I had taken this photograph in the summer of 2002 just before the start of my first advanced college photography class since I had changed my major from Graphic Design and Music to my new passion of photography after I first used the darkroom the year prior in the fall of 2001. I was on my cousin's farm with the family for a gathering and wondered off to take pictures so I could use them for my photography course. I didn't ever get to use this picture for my photography but I've always liked it. After I returned to art and painting after my stint in the Navy in 2011, I found this picture a few years later and thought it would make a nice painting despite the fact that it was taken with black and white film and printed on black and white paper. Actually, I have taken several of my black and white photographs and have turned them into their own unique paintings by adding the cold schemes of my preference since my memory can not be depended on.
I'm a graduate of the University of Akron from 2004, where I majored in photography and painting. I reside in Canton, Ohio and work in my darkroom as well as my small studio in my basement. Art has saved my life as it has been my therapy for my being diagnosed with having Bipolar, OCD, and Anxiety several years ago, after my medical discharge from the Navy in 2011. Since 2011 I've been working on many things and like to work on several projects simultaneously. Currently, I'm working on several paintings, a self portrait from my time in the Navy, a photography book series from my travels out west several years ago, where I took over 50,000 digital images as well as over 50 rolls of black and white film, and I'm working on putting...
